Interested in advertising on this web site or fancy sponsoring further development?
These are the things that people most often ask us about. If this does not answer your question, go to "Ask a Question" and contact us directly.
The links in the library articles don't always work, why is this?
The links in the articles will work when they are featured during a particular month, but once they have been in the library for a while, the place the link takes you to may have expired or been changed. The article may contain details of the organisation or person you are interested in and so you could try obtaining the information through contacting them, or by going to the home page of their website and browsing from there.
Where can I find the legal disclaimers?
If you look along the bottom of any of the pages, you will find the word “legal”. Here you will find a statement of the legal position of grownupgreen and some policy statements we have about how we will act so you can see how we approach things.
Is there a limit to how many things I can do if I am a member?
No, none at all. You are welcome in all areas and to all the activities; keep an eye on the Members’ Newsletter for new opportunities.
What do I do if I don't want to be a member anymore?
You should go to the Members’ Area and click on “Receive Interesting Information”. Undo any ticks you have previously put under any item. This will mean that we no longer contact you from that moment onwards. A year after you first registered, you will receive an automatic e-mail from our system asking you to confirm that your details are still the same. If you ignore this, your details will be taken off our system.
Where can I find more information on the topics covered in grownupgreen?
It is always worth checking in the library for older articles relating to the subject or written by the same contributor. You can group the featured articles and those held in the library by our four main areas of information; click on the relevant icon to do so. Articles will usually refer to the organisation or individual they are about, often with details of an address or website and so you could contact them, although please be sensitive about their circumstances as they may be a small charity or business with few resources.
You can sign up to be notified when we post something on the site relating to your favourite subjects. Go to the Members’ Area and fill in the “Receive Interesting Information” questionnaire.
What should I do if I disagree with an item of content on grownupgreen?
If you think something is factually inaccurate, you should contact editor@grownupgreen.org.uk immediately, with additional information and references.
If you simply disagree with the position of the person who wrote the article, you are welcome to submit a brief article on your own experiences (go to “submit know-how”) or a longer article from your own point of view. Please note, however, that we will only use material that deals with the issue rather than attacks the individual or organisation concerned. We welcome constructive debate on the site.
You will note that the views expressed on the website may not be those of grownupgreen.
How do I make a donation if I haven't got a credit card?
Our donations system accepts debit cards such as Switch, so you could use this instead.
Alternatively you could send a cheque or postal order to:
Projects in Partnership
grownupgreen
7 Laughton Way
Swindon
SN25 4XR
If you are sending a postal order, don’t forget to fill in the “gift aid” declaration on the back.
Thank you for thinking of making a donation to support our work.
How do I know what my donation has been used for?
All the income we receive and spend is detailed, in accordance with the relevant legislation, in our accounts. However, it may be up to a year before we produce accounts that show what happened to the money you donated. Our accounts are lodged annually with the Charity Commissioner and given in full on the website.
We will try and report on how much is donated and raised through other fundraising activities, such as raffles, in the Members’ Newsletter and may produce a six monthly report showing our income and expenditure in more detail. Where we have asked you for money for something specific, that is what it will be used for and it will appear in the accounts as “reserved” income for that purpose alone.
