In February we sent our members this newsletter:
We have a thought-provoking set of articles for you this month looking at issues close to all of our lives such as travel, holidays, being a consumer and even junk mail! As usual, there are more questions than answers, but there are some interesting recommendations from our contributors as well for you to consider
We ask How do we make sustainability sexy? or is it just about Possession Obsession ? Will we change our driving behaviour to live Life in the fast Lane and is the new integrated website Transport direct – joined up thinking?
How can we find a Balance for Life ? Would it help if our employer became an ethically aware Authentic Business? What are the options for making more sustainable choices at The Office ?
Should we do as Sita says and dispose of our waste differently, even compost some of it, and will increasing energy efficiency help us to Count the Savings ?
It is the start of The Gardening Year and there’s lots to prepare for. Could you Give a brood a home ?
For a digest article which gives you a flavour of all the features before you dive in, have a look at this month’s Contributors’ Links
And the junk mail? There’s no question but that having less of that would be an advantage. Or is there? See Your preferences or how to get rid of junk mail

Have you ever thought of something you would like to see on grownupgreen? Do you have a passionate interest in a sustainability issue that you would like to explore? This may be your chance!
We are looking for a small group of about four people to help generate the content of grownupgreen from April 2005. You would be involved in commissioning, editing and writing features or news for the website. You could be responsible for a theme, such as transport or energy, or commit to oversee, for instance, July’s content. All you need is a computer with internet access and a little free time – or how about getting a team together at work and doing it as an employee-volunteering scheme?
This is a totally unique voluntary opportunity. If you are interested or you know someone who might be, please contact Caro.Hart@grownupgreen.org.uk
grownupgreen has unfortunately not been one of the projects chosen by the Environmental Action Fund for support. The fund was nine times oversubscribed so we are one among many projects which did not get funded. This means that as at 31st March our structure will be changing as our pilot money will cease. However, we will be continuing and building on the successes we have had with the website.
We are currently trying to resource the new programme, both in cash and in kind and so if you know of anyone we could contact who might give us, for instance, space on a server or agree to do some printing or who might cover our stationery and office costs at just £500 for a year, please contact us at editor@grownupgreen.org.uk
You can donate on-line to support our work and we hope to develop this is due course. To see how this works go to Make a Donation
